I personally feel it is important to make a positive impact somewhere in the world where it is most needed. On a trip to Kenya with a small non-profit called Global Roots, I was moved by the people of Mtito Andei, Kenya, and the Kamba tribe. This area has a very high rate of poverty, orphaned children, and HIV infection. But despite these challenges we were welcomed with warm hospitality by a people willing to share and determined to work hard to improve their lives.
I have provided the seed money to build the Kimer Kamba Cultural Center, which will provide vocational training, HIV prevention education and assistance with fostering economic growth through cultural tourism. I will be donating 5% of all billings to continue this ongoing work.

Below are some photos from both my July 2010 and July 2011 trips to Africa. When I returned to Mtito Andei, I was able to see the beginning of construction of the Jipe Moyo Camp where the vocational school will be located.
